CLUB NEWS

Make reservations for a great evening at the Club tonight!  Chef Jesse & his culinary team have an excellent menu (see attachment) featuring the "Cadillac of the Sea" presented to your liking & paired with the all you can eat soup & salad bar.  Also, tonight will kick off the weekly happy hour specials (EVERY Thursday-Saturday) from 4:00-7:00 PM w/well drink specials, buckets of beer & some of the simple pleasures of life: Wings-Pretzel Sticks w/Beer Cheese-Chilli Cheese Nachos. Supper Club

Every Sunday beginning Nov. 1st - RESERVATIONS ARE ENCOURAGED

I'm excited to announce to the membership that full service dining is now available on Sunday afternoons!  Chef Jesse has created a menu for each Sunday that will remind you of what family dining is all about (with the exception of who's doing the dishes) to conclude your weekend.  The featured items of the first weekend of the Supper Club:

Chicken & Dumplings - Meatloaf - Pork Chops w/Fried Apples & paired with the soup & salad bar as well as dessert stations.

Thanksgiving Dinner - "Turkey To Go"

As stated above, who want's to do the dishes?  Make your reservations for the Chef's "Turkey To Go" & let us take care of the traditional thanksgiving menu as you enjoy spending time with your family.  Packages available that feed 8-10 people ($139), 12-16 people ($189) as well as additional options that can be made from our kitchen to yours.  Please contact Laura Ridge, lridge@oxmoorcountryclub.com,  to reserve your package prior to Friday, November 20th!

OMGA Champions Celebration

Thursday, November 5th

7:00-8:30 PM

I would like to encourage the members of the OMGA to come to the inaugural Champions Celebration this upcoming Thursday evening.  The OMGA Committee & Professional Staff will award trophies for the 2015 events & look back on some of the most memorable moments of the golf season as everyone enjoys the complimentary wings, chilli dogs & other featured items from the culinary team & the Thursday night NFL game of the week!  Please make reservations by contacting the Golf Shop if you plan to attend that evening.

Turkey Shoot-out

Friday, November 27th

9:30 AM Start

This event will be played DESPITE the weather conditions, so be ready!  Sign up your favorite foursome for the annual scramble played with your family & friends on the links of Oxmoor CC.  The entry fee is just $50 per player & includes the tournament purse, golf, skill challenges as well as lunch & the "Oxmoor Cidar" that has been proven to warm the blood when needed.  Please contact the Golf Shop if you would like to participate in the fun!

I saw this article in Golfweek & thought I would share the "Top 5' Tips

1. Forget honors entirely: play ready golf at all times.

2.Concentrate on determining your yardage before it is your turn to hit.

3. The first golfer to hole out should hold the flagstick & replace it.

4. Never park a golf cart on the front side of the green; park it as close as possible to the point of exit from the green.

5. Playing quickly should be every golfer's mandate.

Hurricane Junior Tour - Louisville

We are hosting our final event of the year this upcoming weekend with over 72 juniors competing in a 2-day stroke play tournament.  Please note the schedule below & when expected member play will be available for the day.

R1 - Sat., Oct. 24th - 12:00 PM Start #1 & #10 tee

Member tee times available in the morning until 10:00 AM

R2 - Sun., Oct. 25th - 9:00 AM Start #1 & #10 tee

Member tee times available in the afternoon beginning at 1:30 PM

Winter Cart Program

Today-March 1, 2016

$149 = UNLIMITED RIDES

Please notify a member of the Golf Staff if you would like to take advantage of the member appreciation program for unlimited cart rides during the "off-season".  Members opting into the Winter Cart Program will only need 8.5 18-hole rounds to break even but is also great for those members who like to ride 3, 6 or 9 holes to work things out on the course.  

OMGA Champions Celebration

I'm very excited to host the inaugural OMGA Champions Celebration in which we will present trophies & special recognitions of achievement throughout the 2015 golf season. The celebration will include "Pub Buffet" for those making reservations, drink specials & fantasy football awareness with the featured Thursday night game of the week on the big screen.  Please make reservations by contacting the Golf Staff or Laura Ridge if you plan on attending.

Winter Cart Program

$149 Unlimited Cart Rental

The annual member appreciation rite of Fall is officially here!  I would like to encourage the membership to keep playing golf for the remainder of the "off-season" with the Winter Cart Program for just $149 (Break Even = 8 Rounds) for the next 5 1/2 months.  The sign up is in the Golf Shop & will be billed to your account on the day you play your first round.

I would like to thank the members of both the OLGA & OMGA for their participation throughout the golf season.  I hope everyone had a great time competing amongst their friends & learned something about what you can do better in your game for the 2016 calendar!  Be on the look for a few surveys from both organizations in regards to tournaments, schedules & suggestions on what we can do better to enhance the tournament experience for the new year.  Again, thank you!

Now that the season is officially in the record books & the upcoming holiday season is rapidly approaching, this is the time to establish healthy fundamentals for both your game & lifestyle.  I would like to offer the membership the opportunity to do such through this TPI designed program while scores are still being posted.  Members who participate will have the opportunity to join "PROsanity" fitness classes offered throughout the week as well as monitored practice sessions scheduled during a 5 week program measuring both handicap & weight loss.  If you are interested, please contact me directly for more information.

Membership Information & Services

I would like to inform the membership that I will be available for any member information or services during our transition in the Clubhouse structure.  If you have any questions, concerns or status in regards to your membership please don't hesitate to contact me by phone or email. I'm going to directly work with our billing office staff throughout the week to update member information as well as begin to look into how we can better our services on a daily basis.  Also, I would like to encourage every member to begin a "verbal campaign" to your friends & family as to why Oxmoor CC is the place to join in our community.  If you know of anyone who is considering joining a private Club, please give me their contact information or have them contact me for a personal tour of our facilities & potential game of golf.  I look forward to this new opportunity to communicate, promote & establish our Club as being the PLACE TO BE!

Couples Invitational

I would like to thank everyone who participated as well as our Couples Chairman, Penny Haseker, for helping make our inaugural Couples Invitational Showcase a tremendous success.  It is without a doubt that this event will continue to grown not only in prominence of our member golf calendar but as well as to the golfing community throughout the state!  Also, I would like to congratulate Erin & Nick Horn for their excellent play & being the Overall Medalist with a two round total of 5 over par, 149, in the alternate shot format.

OMGA Points Championship

I would like to wish the best of luck to all the individuals who qualified to participate in this weekend's OMGA season finale; earning another opportunity to test their game with two days of stroke play.  Participants will have the chance to earn the Point Medalist of the Year as the season point leader, Anthony Thornton, unfortunately (or fortunately for you) will not be in the field for the weekend.  Points will be awarded both days based on net scores & everyone will be awarded prizes/sweeps based on their best finish with gross/net scores after R2 has been completed.  Good Luck!
