OCC Golf

Wednesday Skins Game

The weekly skins game "teed-off" last week with over 12 players participating & some low scores posted from the championship tees.  If you would like to play, please just show up at the Club by 2:00 PM, we will make foursomes or bring a foursome, & all play will begin off #1 tee at 2:30 pm.  The $30 cash game includes; $15 gross skins, $10 teams game, $5 low individual score, & team payout is based on participation.  We look forward to seeing you tomorrow afternoon!

 

Demo Day

Thursday, March 22nd - 3:00-7:00

Make your plans to attend the spring demo day this week.  We have the biggest names in golf on the range & this is a perfect time for you to get fit for equipment that will make you better.  All product will be sold at 10% off of member price (SIDE NOTE: I HAVE THE BEST EVERYDAY PRICES IN THE CITY.) & we will accept any/all used product for trade in value.  If you are interested in a club fitting appointment with one of my staff members, please contact me asap!

 

Oxmoor Junior Academy

Saturday, March 24th - 1:00 pm

The PGA Professional Staff is very excited to offer the monthly junior Academy to all members who have kids the age of 12 & up.  This program is designed to give the juniors the experience of playing in weekly tournaments (Thr-9h & Sat-18h) that will feature individual & team competition with points being awarded for all who participate. The program will also include monitor practice sessions, clinics & individual instruction to help each junior get better at their golf game.  The cost of the Junior Academy is $50 per month for members & $75 for guests, please contact the Golf Shop for more information.

 

OMGA Opening Day Shamble

Saturday, March 31st - 8:30 AM

We currently have over 50 members signed up to play & if you are not on the list, then please contact the Golf Shop.  The two-man shamble is free to all OMGA Members & consist of teams randomly selected using the A/B format for pairing teams to compete in both a gross & net competition.

 

Great Shot!

I would like to congratulate Mr. Carl Herde for recording a hole in one while playing on a golf trip in Tennessee.  Carl hit the perfect shot with an 8 iron from 131 yards & was fortunate enough to see the ball go into the hole!

1.  Carts Must Stay On Path Today At All Times.

2.  Shortgame Facility - The north portion (closest to range) will be closed for the next two weeks.  I have painted a line that extends directly through the middle of the bent fairway, bunker & green.  We will be performing turf maintenance on the fairway & green.  Also, please replace any divots & limit your swings from just one stationary spot.

3.  Score Posting - The 2012 season is upon us & those who maintain a handicap at OCC are required to post scores after their round has been played in a timely manner. 

4.  Guest Rates - Tuesday & Wednesday - $45; Thursday - $35; Friday-Sunday - $60; Twilight 2:30 PM EVERYDAY - $35

5.  Online Tee Times & Statements - The server will be down for the next 3-5 days & all reservations must be made by phone.

Sign-up in the Golf Shop for the blind-draw two-man shamble.  This event is free for all OMGA members & teams will be awarded trophies/sweeps for their highest finish in either gross or net scoring.

OCC Golf

1.  Handicap CU is on!  The 2012 golf season begins & all rounds must be posted to the USGA handicap computer in the Golf Shop.  If you currently do not have a USGA handicap & would like to establish, please contact a member of the PGA Professional Staff. 

2.  Spring Icebreaker - Saturday @ 9:00 AM.  Looks as if the forecast is coming our way to give us a true Icebreaker experience & I would like to thank all of the 21 teams who have signed up to play.  We will have coffee & doughnuts in the 19th Hole prior to play & Chef Jesse will prepare an excellent lunch for all participants after play has concluded.

3.  OMGA Annual Match Play Sign-Ups.  The sign-up sheet for OMGA members to participate in either one or all (President's Cup, Oxmoor Cup, Buddy-Buddy) are posted in the golf shop.  The deadline to sign up is April 15th & all 1st round matches to begin on Tuesday, April 17th & played in the respected time frame established by the tournament condition sheet.

4.  Demo Day - Thursday, March 22nd.  If you are interested in scheduling a fitting during the demo day, please contact a member of the PGA professional Staff for an appointment.

 

 

Winter Ringer Game

I would like to thank all those members who participated in the winter ringer challenge contested from November 2011-February 2012.  Noted below is the final gross total for all who played & we had to use the USGA tie breaking (#10-18,#13-18,#16-18,#18) to determine the top 4 in both gross & net.  Also, please note that those who played the gold tees also had two strokes to their net total for the course differential.  Congratulations to the following individuals:
