Team Shaan Golf Outing

1:00 PM

We are hosting the annual Team Shaan Golf Outing this weekend beginning with a 1:00 PM shotgun start.  This is the 8th year that we have hosted their event which is a significant contributor to the over $150,000.00 that they have donated to a St. X Scholarship as well as to Kosair's Children Hospital.  We have early morning tee times for the membership & will start a group of 10 tee times beginning at 8:00 off of the back 9 to accommodate more member play.  Please contact the Golf Shop for more information.

Couples Golf

Friday, Aug. 1st

6:00 PM

Sign up for a great evening of couples golf with your significant other!  The game that evening is a two-person scramble, both players must select 2 drives, & then cocktails poolside with live music.  The entry fee is just $25 per couple & no experience is necessary!

Club Championship

Fri.-Sun., August 15th-17th

Sign up in the Golf Shop for the Men's, Senior's & Ladies Club Championship in the Golf Shop.  We will again feature a 36 hole competition for the Men's & Senior Division with tee times beginning on Friday afternoon & determining the top eight players in each division for the final round on Sunday to determine the Overall Champion.  New for the 2014 Championship is an award for the Senior's Division to the lowest score after 36 holes for those competing & are 65 years of age or above.

The Ladies Division will begin on Saturday with tee times & the Overall Champion will be determined after the final round on Sunday.  All divisions, with the exception of the Championship Division, will be flighted based on participation & handicap. Please contact the Golf Shop to sign up.

Thank you to those who came out and played in the rain this morning.  Since there weren't that many people to participate in the skins game, we paired everybody up for a blind draw game instead.  The winners with a Net 62 were Chris Mussler and Matt McCreary, earning themselves $50 a piece on their skins account.  Thank you to those who participated.

OCC Golf July 21st

Congratulations!

Mr. Charlie Higdon recorded the 1st hole in one of the year on #16 this past Wednesday.  Charlie hit the perfect shot from 136 yards with an 8 iron!

Mr. Drew McWhorter recorded the low round of the year on the links with an impressive 66 in a President's Cup match this past week.  Drew's round featured 3 birdies & a bogey on the front 9 & six pars & a birdie/eagle/birdie finish on the back 9!

I would like to thank everyone who participated in this weekend's Member Member Championship. I hope everyone enjoyed the competition & fellowship of being a member of Oxmoor CC while testing their game on the championship course. Also, I would like to congratulate the Overall Runner-up team of Richard Taylor & Matt Korn as well as the 3rd place team of Adam Columbia & Will Shoemaker for their excellent play in the shoot-out which was determined the 2nd time down the 18th hole.  

PLEASE NOTE:

1. Carts will be in the rough ONLY this week. 

2. Wed., July 23rd - We are hosting a Ladies Guest Day at 8:30 AM in the morning as well as a member sponsored corporate event at 1:30 that afternoon.  The golf course will have limited availability but both the range & short game facilities will be open.

3. Fri., July 25th - We are hosting a member sponsored 9 hole event at 9:00 AM with a shotgun start on the back 9 & it will be closed until 11:00 that morning.

Medalists for both Gross and Net also got paid today, Michael Schmidt posted the low gross score today, with a 72. Trae Joyce posted the low net score for today, with a 64. Both medalists received $35 for their stellar play today.

Thanks again to everyone who came out and participated in the OMGA and OLGA events today, we look forward to seeing everyone out at the club tomorrow. There are some big matches that are going to be played. Also, just a reminder, spots are filling up fast on our Assistant's Education Fund board. There are 19 spots still available, spaces sell for $25 apiece. This money is for a very good cause, helping our assistants further their PGA education. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

2014 OLGA Triathlon

We are very excited to see all the ladies tomorrow morning for the OLGA Triathlon. The forecast for tomorrow looks very good; lots of sun. The format for tomorrow is six holes of three different games: Holes 1-6 are Best Ball

Holes 7-12 are Scramble

Holes 13-18 are Total Aggregate

We think tomorrow will be a lot of fun for you, and we hope you enjoy the format. The start time will be 9am on holes 15,16, and 17. The pairings for tomorrow are as follows:

The deadline to sign up for the final leg of the OMGA Annual Match Play Championships is today at noon.  The President's Cup is an individual match play with handicap (adjusted off the low handicap player) & all 1st round matches must be played Saturday with the remaining rounds played within the respected deadlines. I would like to encourage any ladies of the OLGA who would like to play this Saturday morning to sign up & PLAY!  Teams will be randomly drawn & will play 3 different formats (Better Ball-Scramble-Team Total Net) over the 18-hole round.  Please contact the golf shop if you would like to play.

We currently have 33 teams signed up to play in next weekend's Men's Member Member & need to complete the field by adding 3 more teams.  The entry fee is $250 per teams & includes a tee gift, Calcutta party & an excellent tournament buffet prepared by our Chef Jesse Hatchett during play on the weekend.  The format is a flighted round robin match play with all teams playing matches against opponents in their respected flights using a low ball/low total point scoring system.  Please contact the golf ship to sign up.
