Corporate Outings

I would like to thank those members who have looked to their home Club to host their fundraiser or customer appreciation event.  These event are an excellent way for us as a membership to continue our growth in the golfing community as well as showcase the many amenities in addition to our championship golf course.  There are numerous individuals who I would like to thank, although not named, their support of the Club operations is greatly appreciated & I look forward to our continued success in the future.  Finally, if you have a small game, large event, meeting, 9 & dine or know of someone who does, please contact me so that your Club can show what makes Oxmoor CC so great!

I would like to inform the membership that this will be my Assistant Golf Professional, Jonathan Love, last week on staff.  Jonathan has accepted the Assistant Golf Professional position at Charlie Vettiner Golf Course that offered an opportunity for a full-time employment & another step towards his goal of becoming a Head Golf Professional.  I'm extremely grateful for Jonathan's professionalism & service provided to the membership as well as looking forward to watch his continued success within the golfing industry.  Please stop by the Golf Shop this week & wish Jonathan the best!

Sunday Skins Challenge 6/28

We would like to thank everyone for participating in the Sunday Skins Challenge today.  It was a beautiful day for golf...it almost felt like an autumn day.  I hope everyone enjoyed their day, it doesn't get much better than this in June.  The big winners of the day each scored a gross and net skin.  Brent Florence had a natural birdie, net eagle, on #7, and Bert Robinson had a natural birdie, net eagle, on #12.  There were a total of 5 gross skins ($29 ea. sweeps) and 4 net skins ($36 ea. sweeps).  The winners are listed below, and thank you again for participating:

Gentlemen, thank you for supporting the golf shop by participating in our "Pick Your Pro" game today. Finishing with a par 5 will always add a little drama. It's unfortunate that a 3-putt was the deciding factor to an exciting tournament. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd will be paid on both the gross, and net sides of the game today. Winners are as follows:

This is the time of the year that we begin to get our most play, both from the membership & golf outings, & I would like to encourage everyone to PLEASE replace your divots, repair your pitch marks as well as rake your foot prints when exiting a bunker.  If everyone is looking to better the course for those who are playing in the game behind yours, then their experience of playing our championship course is significantly better.  You & your invited guest attention to the course care etiquette is greatly appreciated!

OLGA News

Congratulations to the team of Ann Edwards & Leisa Korn for their outstanding play in this past weekend's OLGA Member-Member format.  The Championship team started the final round 3 strokes behind R1 leaders, Penny Haseker & Rachel McMillen, & playing in the game ahead of the leaders proceeded to light up the golf course in the final round net better ball competition with a total of 15 under par score of 57!  I would like to thank everyone who participated & encourage all ladies of the OLGA to sign up for their next event, Blind Draw Member-Member, held in July.

Men's Member Member

The signup sheet for the Men's Member Member is up in the Golf Shop & all members who maintain an established handicap are eligible to compete in this annual championship.  The Member Member features a round robin match play format with all teams competing in five 9-hole matches against all teams within their respected flights.  All matches will feature the 2 point scoring system per hole, low ball/low total, to determine the flight winners as well as the applicable wildcard teams.  Don't miss this great championship, sign up NOW!

OMGA Buddy Buddy Championship Matches

Gentlemen,

I would like to thank you for signing up for the 2nd leg of the annual OMGA Match Play Championships.  We have 35 teams competing for the Buddy Buddy Championship & have flighted the field into two flights.  All matches feature a fourball match play format with hanidcap strokes alloted off of the low handicap player in each match.  It is the responsibility of all competitors to contact their opponents to arrane to play their respected match by the deadline set forth for that round.  Please contact the Golf Shop or reference this email for contact information.

Due to the necessity of having to draw matches into a bracket featuring either 64,32,16,8,4 to determie the single champion; there are a lot of byes in the 1st round.  The Churchill Flight has a single match to be played in R1 & the Keeneland Flight has two matches drawn by the Tournament Pairing Program, giving the other 29 teams a 2nd round match that must be completed by July 12th.  I have listed all the matches to be played in R1 below & wil extend the dealine for these matches to be completed by this weekend at a time agreed upon by the competitors in each match.  Also, I have listed the R2 matches that are to be played & would like to encourage the field to play this weekend at a time agreed upon by the competitors in each match.  We still have tee times set forth in a block in the morning & plenty of tee times available throughout the day both Saturday & Sunday, please contact the Golf Shop for a tee reservation. As everyone who has played in this Championship knows, it can be difficult to arrange 4 schedules for a match, but please note that if not played before the deadline that a coin flip will determine who moves into the next round.

I would like to congratulate Mr. Charlie Waddell & his guest, Mr. Ron Sherwood, for their excellent play this past weekend in winning the 2015 Crystal Classic.  The Waddell & Sherwood team advanced through the Classic Shoot-out with steady play & needed an extra hole playoff to win the championship over the Runner-up team of Mr. Chuck Maggard & his guest, Mr. Kevin Wallace.  I would like to thank everyone who participated as well as our Classic Chairman, Mr. Doug Mussler, for his assistance in helping make the 2015 Classic an overwhelming success!

Oxmoor Golf News - June 3rd

Please Note:
1-The Men's Member Guest Tournament will be contested this weekend beginning with a practice round tomorrow afternoon.  The golf course will be unavailable for regular member play on Thursday afternoon, Friday all day & Saturday morning until 2:00 PM.  The Golf Course Maintenance Staff will be prepping the course in the evening for the following day's tournament round & all play is restricted to allow them to work without interference.  The practice range, short game facility & putting green is available for member use during these times.
2-The practice range seeding has been a success & we will open the range tomorrow afternoon for the remainder of the summer.  I appreciate everyone's patience & look forward to seeing all get their quality full swing practice sessions on!

2015 Guest Fees & Programs:
1-June Guest Days: Friday, June 12th & Thursday, June 25th with a guest fee of $35 including cart rental.  Tee time reservations required.
2-Guest Fee is $50 Every Day.  Cart rental is $10 for 9-holes & $18 for 18-holes & is optional.
3-Twilight Fee begins at 2:00 PM daily (was 3:00 PM) & is $35 for walking & $45 including a cart rental for those guest playing.
4-Executive Cart Program:  Members who come out to the Club in the evening to play golf, beginning at 6:00 PM, can play 3, 6 or 9 holes with a complimentary golf cart.  This program is for members only, guest not eligible, & only complimentary when play is being started at 6:00 PM off of #1 tee.
