Sunday Blind Draw Game

Thank you to all those who came out and participated in our Sunday Blind Draw Game this morning. There was some great playing out there today.  Please note the winners below:

1st Place with a Net 50 was Jim Stricker and Lenny Noe, earning a total of $100 ($50/Person)

2nd Place with a Net 59 was Tim Kelly and Merl Hogan, earning a total of $60 ($30/Person)

There was a 3 way tie for 3rd Place between Ben Jansen/Tom McGee, Tim Ridge/Tom Larkin, and Dan Albers/Alan Donhoff with a Net 62 earning a total of $36 ($18/Person)

Please Note:

1. The Practice Range practice tee has been seeded & will be closed until further notice.  All practice range balls will be on the mats & please do not hit drivers off of the practice tee.  If you need to hit drivers, please use the right corner rough area or you can go to the back practice tee.

3. Assistant Education Raffle - $25 per square.  We are going to have the final draw for some great golf prizes, guest fees & cart rental passes after the 4th of July weekend.  Your support of the Asst. Edu. Raffle is greatly appreciated as the PGA Professional Staff continues their education into the PGM program.

4. Guest Day - Friday, June 27th.  All guest play on this friday is for just $35 per player & includes cart rental.  Please contact the golf shop for tee time reservations.

Weekend Update - June 21st & 22nd

1. Replace your divots; by doing so they turf is proven to recover on a much more accelerated pace.

2. Carts are in the Rough ONLY. Please keep all cart traffic off the fairways until further notice.

Sat., June 21st

1. OMGA Buddy Buddy Championship starting times have been posted & 1st round matches will begin at 7:15 am off both #1 & #10 tee. The format is best ball match play with all strokes adjusted off the low handicap player of the match.

2. St. Jude Golf Outing - 1:00 PM.  We will have 24 teams playing in a shotgun start & the golf course will be unavailable for regular member play between the times of 12:45-6:00 PM.  Members are encouraged to use the practice facilities as all will be open throughout the afternoon.

Sun., June 22nd

1. Every Sunday we are featuring a "Sunday Family Funday" with all couples playing golf only billed for just 1 cart fee ($17) as well as free cart rental for families coming out to play after 4:00 PM! I would also like to encourage all parents to get their kids into Junior Golf, it's a game of a lifetime & learning anything new is always easier as a kid.  we look forward to seeing you at the Club!

Golf Course Notes

1. Practice Tee - As many of you already know, our practice tee is a victim of "The Great Polar Vortex 14" & has yet to recover from the glacier melt.  With approval from the Board of Directors we have purchased seed that will be arriving early next week & will begin the process of re-seeding to stimulate growth of our bermuda grass tee.  During this process the range will be open but will be off the mat only.  We will have the back tee available for those who would like to hit off grass, but please note that is also bermuda, & is mostly dirt.

2. Golf Course Watering - The optimum time to water the bent grass turf is during the morning & late in the evening.  We apologize about any interference that this may occur while playing but please know that it is necessary in order to maintain the overall health of the turf.

OCC Golf - June 17th

Congratulations!

I would like to congratulate Mr. Scott Lusk & Mr. Johnny Deaton for winning the 2014 Crystal Classic Championship.  Mr. Lusk joined the Oxmoor family this Spring & quickly established himself as a golfing legend within the Club by winning the most prestigious event on the Men's golf calendar.

The first round of the 2nd leg of OMGA Annual Match Play Championships will be contested on Saturday morning with  a double wave start off of #1 & #10 tees.  All additional matches must be played by the deadline set forth in the competition rules & it is the responsibility of all opponents to contact each other to arrange the match to be played.  If you would like to participate, please contact the golf shop to sign up.
