I would like to thank all the members who have signed up to play in the upcoming men's member member.  We currently have filled our 6th flight (36 teams) and have 2 openings to complete the 7th flight (top 4alternate teams if not completed).  Also, any members who may not have a partner but would like to play, please let the golf shop know so that we may try to pair you up.

Great Shot!

Congratulations to Mr. John Hill who recorded his 3rd hole in one of his golfing career this past weekend.  John hit the perfect shot on the 6th hole with a 6 iron from 170 yards while playing with his wife on a let 9-hole afternoon.

Congratulations to Mr. Ryan Goode, son of Randy Goode, who aced the 16th hole while playing with his Dad.  Ryan hit the shot with a long iron from 190 yards while playing the championship tees & now the 16th hole has now been aced by both father & son, how awesome is that!

I would like to thank the numerous members who signed up to play in the member-member after last week's email.  We currently have 30 teams & would like to add another flight of teams now.  The format will consist of a  9-hole round robin match play tournament with points being awarded on a low ball/low total per hole.  The entry fee is all inclusive, with the exception of Friday evenings Calcutta, and teams will be put on the alternate list until the flight is filled with 6 teams.  Please contact the golf shop to sign up.

Just wanted to thank a few individuals for their support of Oxmoor CC this golf season.  First, thanks to Ben Jansen & Craig & Landreth Auto, for sponsoring the hole-in-one challenge during the Men's Member Guest.  Ben called me the week of the tournament, & with the approval by the Craig family (all golf enthusiast), parked a $25,000 convertible camaro on the 8th tee as the grand prize.  That is the type of guy I want to buy a car from.  I would also like to thank Ken Rick & his company, Premier Homecare, for allowing our Club to host their annual fundraising event.  This was the 6th season that Ken & his tournament committee has held their tournament at Oxmoor & it has always hosted a full field allowing us to showcase our Club in the local community.  Finally, I would like to encourage all members who may know of an outing or small groups of golfers to contact the golf shop.  Allow your Club the opportunity to host these event & continue to spread the word about what we are doing at Oxmoor CC!

     a.  8:00 AM Member Shotgun Start, please contact the golf shop if you would like to play that morning.  All play must be off the golf course by 12:30 PM.

3.  Wed., Junior Golf - 12 & under; 2:00-3:30 PM & Thur., Junior Golf - 13 & above; 3:00-5:00 PM.  $10 per member & $20 per guest.

OLGA Triathlon

Saturday, June 23rd, Tee-time Start.

If you haven't signed up to participate in this weekend's OLGA event, then please do so now!  The format features two-person teams, participating in 3 different formats, contested over 18 holes Saturday morning.  Holes #1-6 will feature a better ball competition, #7-12 will feature a total aggregate competition & #13-18 will feature a scramble; identifying the overall winning team with the lowest net combined total.  Please contact the golf shop to sign up.

The men's member member tournament is now just 3 weeks away & currently we have just 10 teams signed up.  Members who have an established USGA handicap are eligible to participate in the annual round robin match play event.  Due to the necessary numbers of 6 teams per flight, we will begin to have a waiting list at 24, & limit this to the first 36 teams to sign up.  There will be a Calcutta party on Friday evening for all participants & 45 holes of golf contested on the weekend plus a shoot-out to determine the overall championship team. Just wanted to thank all the members who participated in the member-guest tournament this weekend.  Congratulations to the winning team of Chirs Burke & Hal Bibee for their excellent play within their flight, as well as the shoot-out, over the runner-up team of Eric Hinderer & Troy Martin.  I would also like to thank our Golf Course Superintendent, Mike Coy, & his staff for their tournament preparations; the golf course was as good as it has ever been.  Again, thanks to all who played!

Please Note:

1.  The Ladies Invitational is this Friday, June 15th.  The golf course will be available for regular member play beginning at 1:00 PM.  

2.  Thursday, June 21st, Member Sponsored Corporate Outing at 1:00 PM.  We will have a member play shotgun start at 8:00 AM that morning for those that would like to play that day.  The practice range will be available for member use throughout the day.

3.  Junior Golf - Wednesday @ 2:00 PM, designed for kids 5-11 years old with little golfing experience.  Thursday @ 3:00 PM, designed for kids 11 & up who have golfing experience.  Each junior must be able to carry their own golf bag & complete 6 holes walking by themselves.  All juniors will be paired with a member of the PGA Professional Staff & learn the fundamentals that will help accelerate their skill levels.  Please contact the golf shop for more information.

Callaway Demo Day, Trackman Fitting

The Men's Member Guest will be contested this week.  Noted below is the schedule of the golf course & practice range availability for this week.  Also, due to an unfortunate circumstance, I have 3 spots available for those who would like to invite a friend/client/or just play golf this weekend.  Please contact the golf shop if you would like to participate or have any questions in regards to golf/range availability.

Wed - June 6th - No tee times after 5:00 pm.  The grounds staff will be cutting fairways, rolling greens & other tournament preparation to the golf course.

Thur - June 7th - 8:00 am Member Play Shotgun Start.  If you would like to play, please contact the golf shop.  The golf course will be closed for tournament preparations immediately following the practice round.

                        11:00-1:00 Range Unavailable for member usage.

Fri - June 8th - Golf Course closed all day.  The practice facilities will be available for member use throughout the day.

Junior Golf Note:

WEDNESDAY - 2:00-3:30 PM ($10 per member/$20 per guest)

This week the PGA Professional Staff will begin the summer programs for kids who would like to learn the game of golf.  The weekly Wednesday clinics are designed for juniors who are the ages of 12 & under (5 = youngest) coaching them through athletic motions while learning to fundamentals of playing the game of golf.  All juniors will be broken into groups of age/skill ability & moved through coaching stations with the PGA Professional Staff that will help each junior achieve the confidence to execute a golf swing/chip/putt.  Members are encouraged to invite junior friends & just show up weekly at 2:00 PM.
