OCC Golf - Green Aerification

Please Note:

The front 9 will be closed tomorrow morning for green aerification & unlikely to open until 3:00 PM.  The back 9 will be closed on Friday morning until 3:00 PM for green aerfication.  Also, please note that we will begin fairway aerfication next week & will have hole closures daily as the grounds staff works.  We apologize for any inconvenience that this may incur & look forward to seeing you soon at the Club.

Tuesday Night League Finale

Tonight at 5:30 PM

Sign up for the final Tuesday evening game of the year before 4:00 PM today.  The men will compete in a flighted stroke play event with both the low gross & low net winners being award cash for their respected flights.  The ladies will compete in a 9 hole stroke play tournament awarding the low gross & low net.  The lady with the lowest net score will also receive her name on the 9-hole league champion plaque in the president's hallway so get ready to golf your way into Oxmoor lore.  Please contact the golf shop to sign up.

OMGA Triathlon

Sat., Oct. 6th - 9:00 AM

The final Saturday event of the golf season is now just 2 weeks away!  We currently have 25 members signed up to participate & will begin to have an alternate list when we reach 36 players in order to have equal teams.  The format of the Triathlon will feature a better ball competition on holes #1-6, a total aggregate competition on holes #7-12, & a scramble competition on holes #13-18.  All teams will be randomly drawn using a the A/B pairing method by the USGA tournament program & teams will be awarded in both gross & net divisions.  This is the last chance to gain valuable points for the OMGA Points Championship so make sure that you are signed up to participate!

Glow Ball

Sat., Sept. 22nd - 5:30 Shotgun Start

$30 per two-person team/ $60 per four-person team.

We currently have 5 foursomes signed up to play in this weekend's glow ball event & if you would like to participate, please contact the golf shop!  We will begin play with a foursome scramble on the outward 6 holes played as the sunsets, gathering in the 19th hole for intermission, & then complete the inward 6 holes with a modified foursome scramble under the moonlight.  Members are encouraged to make their own teams & guest are welcome!

OMGA Triathlon

The last Saturday event of the year for OMGA members is quickly approaching & is your last chance to earn points towards making the OMGA Points Championship contested at month's end.  The event is a random blind draw using the A/B format for pairing teams by the tournament program & teams will compete for both gross & net divisions with 3 different formats(better ball/total aggregate/scramble) contested across 18 holes.  Please contact the golf shop to sign up.

Patriot Golf Day

I would like to thank all the members who supported the Patriot Golf Day fundraising weekend at Oxmoor CC.  We collected a total of $2500 for the Folds of Honor Foundation in which will go directly to support families of fallen service men & women through educational scholarships & general assistance.  Again, thank you for your support!

Congratulations to Dr. Jim Steltenpohl for recording a hole in one while playing on Tuesday morning.  Jim hit the perfect shot on the 13th hole from 170 yards with a 5 wood & was his 2nd hole in one (same hole) of his playing career!
