Patriot Golf Day

Tuesday, September 4th

Last year Oxmoor Country Club raised near $2000 over labor day weekend for the Folds of Honor Foundation benefiting families of fallen soldiers.  This year we will again look for donations for this worthy cause but also have decided to "Open" the Club on Tuesday for a green fee of $30 in which 100% of that money will be donated to the charity.  Tee-times will begin at 8:00 am that morning and will be promoted to the general public to come & support the Folds of Honor Foundation. All tee-times will be made on 10 minute intervals & members who would like to play that day have the priority in making their reservations.  We will also have the 9-hole league that evening at 6:00 PM for a donation fee of $20 (100%) that will be held with both men & women making a team.  My goal this year is to double the amount that we donated last year (we did receive an outstanding performer plaque) and also assist the Warrior Transition Unit on the Ft. Glow Ball

Saturday, September 22nd

6:00 PM Shotgun Start

Sign up in the golf shop for this fun evening of golf with your favorite gal or pal!  The event will feature a 6 hole scramble beginning at 6:00 pm followed by heavy hors d'oeuvres on the Clubhouse veranda and then completed with a 6 hole glow ball scramble under the light of the moon.  The entry fee is just $30 per two-person team & is all inclusive with the exception of any adult beverages; please contact the Golf Shop to sign-up.

OMGA Fourman Calcutta

Sat. & Sun., August 25^th & 26^th

8:30 AM Shotgun Start Both Days

We currently have 44 players & 2 on the alternate list for this weekend's OMGA member event.  Teams will be drawn using a captains selection tomorrow evening in the 19^th hole at 6:00 PM & all participants are encouraged to attend.  The format will count 1 ball on the par 5's, 2 balls on the par 4's & 3 balls on the par 3's (R2 opposite on par 5's & par 3's) & 1 hole will be randomly drawn in which all 4 balls must be counted.  Teams will be awarded sweeps & trophies for their highest place finish in either gross or net standings.  The event is free for all OMGA members (excluding the $50 Calcutta fee per man) & non-members who maintain an official USGA Handicap can play for a tournament fee of $40.  If you haven't signed up & would like to participate please contact the golf shop prior to 12:00 PM tomorrow.

Junior Club Championship

Saturday, August 18^th

The junior club championship is open to all junior & student members of Oxmoor CC and will include the annual photo & trick shot exhibition from Kentucky PGA Hall of Fame Member, Buddy Demling.  All members who have had juniors participate in summer programs at OCC are encouraged to come for the photo & golf clinic as well as any member who would jus like to see some cool golf shots.  Please note the itinerary below:

12:30 – Registration

1:00 – Photo & Golf Clinic

1:30 – Stroke Play Competition

We currently have 24 individuals signed up to participate in next weekend's OMGA event.  The two-day event will award both gross & net scores featuring a strategic format of counting single to multiple balls on par 3's, par 4's & par 5's.  Teams will be drawn using a captain's selection the night prior to competition at 6:00 PM in the 19^th hole & Calcutta money is $50 per player.
