Open For Business!  

Wednesday, Jan. 20th

We are excited to welcome back the membership for the 2016 golf season!  As many of you are aware it has been an intriguing winter shutdown that featured numerous golf days, complete makeover of the dining room & the unfortunate water damage to the 1st floor restrooms as well as the business office.  We still have a lot of work to do but will be open for lunch, dinner & other activities despite of the necessary completions of the projects to be completed so that we will be back in full operations on all fronts.  I will continue to update the membership with the ongoings of projects & hope to see everyone at the Club soon.

Taste of Oxmoor & Townhall Meeting

Thursday, Jan. 21st

6:00-8:00 PM

Join us this upcoming Thursday for our inaugural Taste of Oxmoor & Townhall Meeting hosted by your Professional Staff & Board of Directors.  We will have a complimentary tasting of new featured items on the menu, speciality drinks (those are not complimentary..) & an introduction of our Culinary Team lead by our Clubhouse Director, Eric Rose.  We will also feature an open discussion of Club goals for the year, calendar of events & your membership as we look to improve our standards within all of our facilities so that we can provide a better service.  The evening will be fun & informative, please make your plans to attend!

OCC E-News - Club CLOSED Until Jan., 20, 2016

Members,

I hope everyone is well & enjoying our first arctic blast of the winter! It looks as if this might be here for a while but we only have 70 days until Spring...

For those of you who are not aware (follow us on Facebook @oxmoorcountryclub or @oxmoorpgastaff) we had a pipe burst over the men's restroom this past Friday afternoon in which proceeded to completely flood our business offices, Clubhouse foyer & into the Lakeview Room.  We currently have dehumidifiers & fans everywhere to help accelerate the drying out process but both restrooms will need significant reconstruction and likely be closed for the following weeks to come.  The management team as well as the Board of Directors feel it is in our best interest to stay closed through this week & there will be NO dining room service until we re-open on Wednesday, January 20th.  We apologize about any inconvenience that this may incur but we are excited to showcase the new interior look of our Clubhouse for this season when we do open next week.  If you have any questions, please contact me.

Taste of Oxmoor & Town Hall Meeting

Thursday, Jan 21st @ 6:30 PM

We are still planning to go ahead with our opening event of the 2016 season next week with our inaugural Taste of Oxmoor & Town Hall Meeting.  Make your plans to attend a fun evening sampling some of our new culinary items that will be featured on the menu throughout the year as well as an open discussion on our current state of affairs as a Club.  We look forward to seeing everyone there & hope that all can attend.

Pre-Pay Dues Deadline = Jan. 22nd

A quick reminder to those members who would like to take advantage of pre-paying your dues for the upcoming year to please do so prior to the deadline date.  If you have any questions in regards, you can reach our Business Office & speak with Connie Perry (cperry@oxmoorcountryclub.com) or myself so that we may discuss in further detail.

Taste of Oxmoor & Town Hall Meeting

Please mark your calendar to come out to the Club to start the new year with an evening of sampling new menu items as well as discussing the current events & upcoming goals we have for the 2016 season. It is without a doubt that one of the goals is to better service you as a member & any/all constructive criticism or ideas will be strongly encouraged during the discussion.

Club President Note:

As we come out of winter shut down, we are pleased and excited to announce a returning addition to our service team.  Jamie DeKeuster has accepted the position of Head Golf Professional to serve complimentary to our Director of Golf and Membership, Josh Snider.  Jamie returns to Oxmoor after a successful stint as Head Golf Professional of the Valley Links and Learning Center at the French Lick Hotel and Resort.  With our evolving management and service structure, our management team and Board of Trustees, felt it important to have Class A Professional, available to assist and compliment Josh's delivery of daily golf responsibilities.  Jamie's return also aligns with our renewed emphasis on hospitality.  Jamie's growth over the last year in the resort business gives us more outside experience to draw upon as our service teams, led by Josh and Eric Rose, are re-committed to a "resort" feel and atmosphere in all parts of your member experience.  Congratulations Jamie and we hope  everyone can make it out to the club soon to reconnect with Jamie and share your wants and needs for 2016!

Taste of Oxmoor CC & Winter Town Hall Gathering

Circle your calendar for the first event of the 2016 year & come out to the Club to have a "Taste of Oxmoor" as well as discuss the happenings of your Club.  The evening will begin with a complimentary tasting of items that are prepared by our Executive Chef Jesse & his culinary team as well as select adult beverages that will be featured for the upcoming season.  We will also use this opportunity to have a general discussion of current Club operations, goals & how we can continue to promote the Club's numerous facilities in our community.  Please, make your plans now to attend!

Winter Shutdown Notes:
1. We will be open if the weather is forecasted above 45 Degrees for golf operations ONLY.

2. There will only be beverage & snack service available in the main Clubhouse (NO Food Service)

3. Thursday, Dec. 24th - All carts MUST be returned by 3:00 PM

4. Friday, Dec. 25th - CLOSED

Membership Notes:

1. I would like to request that as many members as possible to take some time to review your Club through either Google, Yelp or Facebook.  The more reviews that we receive with your comments/stars definitely help with the "free" advertising & rankings of our services. Please take a few minutes & help up the coverage!

2. I'm currently working on the membership database & will be contacting each & every member in the upcoming month to gather as much up to date information to enter into our Club computer system.  I look forward to speaking with everyone & encourage each of you to please share any ideas/constructive criticism during our conversation so that we can better serve your needs.

3. If you know of anyone who is interested in learning more about being a member of Oxmoor CC or that would like to join, please contact me.  I'm currently working with the newly established Membership Committee & we are going to be very involved with marketing our Club for this upcoming season.

Please make reservations for this upcoming weekend's Breakfast w/ Santa by contacting Laura Ridge, Catering Director, by email or phone.  We will have sitting times in 30-minute increments for breakfast throughout the day that will also allow the children time with the Big Guy himself!  The Chef & his culinary team have created a great holiday menu (noted below) & the price is just $15.95 for adults & $9.95 for kids.

Gentlemen's Hold 'Em & Billiards

The "off-season" card & billiards games have begun & if you haven't joined in the fun, then please come do so!  Every Thursday evening a "Gentlemen's Draw" is held in the Men's Locker Room in which games of Texas Hold'em is contested amongst the members who are able to participate.  No reservations required & no checks allowed...

Holiday "To Go" Dinner

Thanks to everyone who took advantage of our Thanksgiving Dinner "To Go" prepared by our Executive Chef Jesse Hatchett & his culinary team.  We will again offer the complete catering package for your family's Christmas celebrations to be picked up on December, 24th.  The Chef has prepared his men featuring; Prime Rib w/Au Jus or Honey Glazed Ham (Maybe Both?!), Twice Baked Potatoes, Green Bean Almondine, Dinner Rolls & choice of Peppermint Chocolate Cake or Traditional Cheesecake (Maybe Both!?).  Please contact our Catering Director, Laura Ridge, to reserve your Holiday "To Go"  Dinner & let us do the cooking for you!

OLGA Awards Social

TONIGHT @ 6:30 PM

I would like to encourage all members of the OLGA to come out to the Club this evening for an awards party that you don't want to miss.  We will look back on some of golfing moments of the 2015 season as well as celebrate the Champions for their outstanding play throughout OLGA golf events.  I would like to thank OLGA President, Patti Noe, as well as OLGA Committee Member, Mary Mattingly, for their efforts in planning this fun evening & we hope to see you at the Club!

Turkey Shoot-out Results

Thanks to everyone who came out to play in the final golf event of the year this past Friday.  It was by far the best forecast & temperatures we have ever had for this event & ultimately there was some good golf played to match the conditions.  Congratulations to all the winners!
