OMGA Opening Day Shamble

9:30 AM Start

The opening day shamble start time has moved 1 hour back due to the temperatures & potential frost delay.  Please note the names below & if you are not on there & would like to play, please contact the Golf Shop by tomorrow at 4:00 PM.  The OMGA Committee will sponsor an after play 19th hole party, beer & apps, for everyone who participates and would like to watch basketball afterwards.  All teams will be paired by the USGA Tournament Pairing Program using the A/B format.

2. Please replace your divots.  It is PROVEN that the turf recovers sooner if you place as much of the divot as possible.  Let's start the season out right!

Bag Drop Access - As many of you noticed this past weekend we have directional signs for the 2013 golf season (& beyond) encouraging those who members & guests to have their clubs dropped off at a location for play prior to parking.  My staff will be ready for you on days that we have play (Fri-Sun @ peak hours) through the next few weeks & begin implementing new procedures & standards for your arrival.

Tournament Notes

1. Spring Icebreaker, March 2nd - 9:30 AM Shotgun Start.   Sign up your favorite foursome or as an individual for the four person scramble by contacting the golf shop.  Guests (potential new members) are encouraged to play!

2. OMGA Opening Day Shamble, March 23rd - 9:00 AM Shotgun Start.  The opening event of the Men's Golf Association is a two-person gross & net shamble with teams paired by blind draw using the A/B method.

Make your plans to experience the game benefiting technology of 2013!  Confirmed on site thus far; Adams, Callaway, Ping & Titleist, with more to come.  The Golf Staff & myself will release scheduled fitting times, for those who are interested in getting custom fit that day, beginning in March in 30 minute time slots to help you make the best decision for your game.

Winter Lesson Package

For the remainder of the month, members who would like to package a series of five 45 minute golf lessons with myself, may do so for just $195.00!  This series is for those who want to improve a specific part of their game or just a better understanding of each factor (full swing, short game, course management) of playing better golf.  The series will also include an additional hour golf workout in our fitness room to help accelerate goals!  All purchases must be made by the end of the month & expire on August 31st.

Oxmoor Ladies Golf Association

2013 Notes

I would like to thank the OLGA President, Liz Welsh, for a meeting that we had to discuss the 2013 OCC ladies golf programs & the opportunities for growth.  This is a historical year for our Club within the golfing community as we host the Kentucky Women's Open Championship on July, 8th-10th, & look forward to showcasing our Club as one of the best facilities in metro Louisville.  I'm extremely excited about this upcoming season & can assure that the infant development of OLGA (now in the 3rd season) with the principles set forth by prior presidents to promote the women's game at Oxmoor CC will be well retained by Liz.  I will have more information forthcoming in regards to social gatherings, growth of game clinics & tournament specifics as we move closer to the start of the season & if you have any questions about OLGA please don't hesitate to contact me.

This past month we recorded 177 member rounds & there has been movement from the bottom of the leader-board but strokes are hard to find on the top.  Going into the last month of the challenge (28 days left), Dennis Washburn is trying to lead the gross division from wire to wire; the net division has had multiple leaders through-out the season & currently lead by Bob Penny.  Please note the standings below & I look forward to seeing you at the Club.
